What Are Cosmetic Braces? Benefits of Cosmetic Braces
Cosmetic braces are an effective solution to completely correct dental issues such as crooked teeth, misalignment, spacing, overbite, underbite, and bite irregularities.
This method uses advanced orthodontic appliances such as metal braces, composite braces, ceramic braces, lingual braces, or Invisalign clear aligners to gently move teeth into their proper position, creating a beautifully straight smile and a perfect bite.
Cosmetic braces not only give you a radiant smile but also unlock greater confidence, help build a positive personal image, attract attention, create lasting impressions, and support smooth career advancement. As a result, your quality of life becomes better and happier.
Cases Suitable for Cosmetic Braces
- Crowded teeth – teeth that overlap or are too close together
- Overbite – upper front teeth that slightly protrude forward
- Underbite – lower front teeth that slightly protrude forward
- Gapped teeth – noticeable spaces between teeth
- Bite misalignment – teeth do not meet properly when biting
- Misaligned teeth – rotated, tilted, or shifted teeth
Brace Methods at Saigon Implant Dental
1. Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most traditional and widely used orthodontic method, particularly effective for complex cases such as severely misaligned teeth or bite issues. The cost of metal braces is usually lower compared to other orthodontic methods.
2. Composite Braces
Composite braces use brackets made from composite material to improve aesthetics while maintaining good strength. However, composite brackets are less durable than metal braces and may stain from food and drinks if proper oral hygiene is not maintained.
3. Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces replace metal brackets with tooth-colored ceramic ones for better aesthetics. They are less noticeable, giving users more confidence. Care must be taken to avoid damage to opposing teeth, as ceramic material is harder and can cause wear.
4. Lingual Braces (Inside Braces)
Lingual braces are small brackets attached to the inner surfaces of the teeth. They offer excellent aesthetics, allowing users to smile confidently while communicating, and do not damage the outer surface of teeth when removed. This method requires meticulous oral care using special brushes and following the dentist’s instructions.
5. Clear Aligners (Invisalign)
Invisalign is the most advanced orthodontic technology available today. It uses a series of custom-made clear plastic aligners that fit snugly over the teeth, applying gentle pressure to guide teeth into their proper positions. Invisalign is suitable for cases of mild crowding, gaps, or slight misalignment. Each set of aligners (20–45 trays) is designed for each patient at different treatment stages, providing comfort without interfering with daily activities.
Cosmetic Braces Process & Duration
Step 1: Initial examination and X-ray imaging if needed
Step 2: Taking dental impressions and planning your personalized treatment
Step 3: Placement of brackets or aligners
Step 4: Regular monitoring of tooth movement and progress
Step 5: Removal of brackets and fitting your retainer for long-term results
Most cosmetic braces treatments take 12 to 24 months, depending on individual cases. Some treatments may take a little longer.

When Is the Best Time to Get Braces?
There is no strict age limit for orthodontic treatment. Patients from 6 to over 50 years old can still achieve effective results. Based on the experience of our doctors at Saigon Implant Dental, combined with recommendations from the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and the American Dental Association (ADA), the following age stages are considered optimal for braces:
- Ages 6–7: Begin bringing children for early orthodontic screening during the tooth replacement stage.
- Ages 6–12: This is the mixed dentition stage, suitable for wearing trainer appliances to guide teeth into the correct position.
- Ages 13–19: The ideal age for braces. At this stage, the body is still developing and jawbones are not yet fully fixed, making orthodontic treatment more effective and efficient.
- From age 20 and above: Braces still deliver good results, though treatment may take longer due to fully developed jawbones. At Saigon Implant Dental, many of our patients in their 40s (U40) have started braces and still achieved excellent outcomes.
